Executive Diploma in Business Logistics
Overview
Logistics is the term now widely used in business for the range of activities associated with the movement, storage and handling of materials. The management of Business Logistics has been revolutionised over the past 20 years and has come to be regarded as a key determinant of business competitiveness. Effective logistics management can lower costs, provide better customer service and quality, which translate into strategic competitive advantage and profitability for the company.
This part-time diploma module provides an introduction to Business Logistics and the related Operations Management. Topics covered include the strategic important of logistics management, international logistics issues, logistics network design, location and layout planning, demand forecasting, the management of materials and inventories, production planning and control, and transportation/distribution issues.
The program provides students with both a specialist knowledge of Business Logistics and a basic training in related business disciplines.

Note: ONE credit is equivalent to 14 contact hours. For each module there would be a 18 hours face-to-face contact and 10 hours tutorial/practical.
Total Credit offered = 24 credit (9 course X 2 credit add 6 credit Project Paper)
Total Contact hours = 24 X 14 hours
= 336 hours
Entry Requirements
Minimum SPM with two years of working experience. Students not able to meet the minimum entry requirement will be placed on the three month certificate in Business Administration course.
Duration
It is designed to enable students to complete the diploma within 3 semester academic year.
